Dow selects and manages more than 30,000 material and service suppliers worldwide based on a robust set of criteria, ranging from performance and economics to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) implementation. Engaging suppliers that prioritize sustainability is critical for us.
This program’s mission is to support under represented and minority businesses. In addition to unlocking growth via diverse spending and achieving top benchmark performance, it drives accountability for supplier diversity across our entire corporation and value chain. It also uses advocacy and outreach to increase support for diverse suppliers that promote workforce inclusion, diversity & equity (ID&E).
Our 4STAR & DowGOL programs encourage and recognize Dow’s logistics supplier partners for excellent performance in safety, sustainability, social responsibility, and service. Kicking off in Latin America, the Logistics Supplier Award programs were also implemented across Asia, Europe, and North America.
Dow implements sustainable business practices across our entire value chain by setting high standards for our logistics services providers (LSPs) via an extensive risk-based program to qualify providers and establish periodic follow-up assessments. These assessments include reviewing health & safety practices, labor practices, environmental compliance, and security—as well as identifying shared improvement opportunities.
