Dow unveils its blueprint for product safety; part of Company’s Leading the Blueprint 2025 Sustainability Goal

Underscores commitment to deliver materials safely to the market through innovation and collaboration

MIDLAND, Michigan – February 7, 2022 – Today, Dow (NYSE: DOW) launched its blueprint for Product Safety, part of the Company’s 2025 Sustainability Goals. Adding to previous blueprints for sustainable watershed management and a low carbon economy, product safety is the basis for how Dow brings materials safely to the market through innovation and collaboration.

Dow invites governments, companies, academia, and all stakeholders to delve into the material, which is based on research from more than 200 specialists in global chemical and end-use regulations, product stewardship, toxicology, risk assessment, and hazard communication. Readers can find studies on the Company’s successful collaborations with governments and universities like Johns Hopkins, review the strides Dow is making in Environment, Health & Safety education throughout Africa and the Middle East, and learn about the Company’s recent accolades such as the prestigious 2021 Edison Awards, among other aspects of the blueprint.

“Blueprint thinking, with collaboration as the central concept, has been the cornerstone of Dow’s 2025 Sustainability Goals,” said Mary Draves, chief sustainability officer and vice president of environment, health, and safety. “Sustainability is about how we work together at the intersection of business, government and society to help drive the transition to a more sustainable planet and society. Our latest blueprint sets out to share insights with all stakeholders to help bring materials safely to market.”

Innovating and collaborating for a sustainable future for all
Dow envisions a future where every material brought to market is sustainable for people and the planet. Through strong collaboration and innovation at the intersections of chemistry, biology, and physics, Dow scientists and experts work to deliver the value customers want and the solutions the world needs. The Product Safety blueprint further demonstrates the value of chemistry and materials science to society and can improve the way the world understands and considers science in decision-making. Dow’s “The Product Safety Story: The Birth of a Molecule” illustrates the way in which the Company presents new solutions to global challenges and develops products which are safe for their intended use.
