I couldn’t be prouder of Team Dow as we continue to respond to the needs of our colleagues, customers, suppliers, community and government partners, and so many others. Team Dow continues to find new ways to serve our stakeholders despite the challenges surrounding us.
Healthcare professionals urgently need more personal protective equipment. And as they and others on the front lines of this pandemic continue to move our world forward in heroic fashion, we owe them all the support we can offer.
Faceshields ready for assembly
Today, Dow announced that we’ve developed a simplified design for face shields to help protect healthcare workers. Alongside Michigan-based Tinkrlab, we will laser-cut, assemble and donate 100,000 of these face shields to the state of Michigan for distribution to hospitals.
We recognize the need for face shields is far greater than the 100,000 Dow can produce. In fact, it’s far greater than any one company can supply on its own. But together, we can continue to be part of the broader solution. With that belief in mind, Dow is making its innovative and proprietary designs available for public download. The design is only comprised of two pieces – a shield and forehead cushion – streamlining multi-component assembly. It also allows for face shield production from various polymers using different cutting techniques.
