SunSpheres™ BIO SPF Booster wins second award
MIDLAND, Mich. – October 6, 2020 – SunSpheres™ BIO SPF Booster, Dow’s first bio-based and readily biodegradable SPF booster, won silver for the in-cosmetics Global Innovation Zone Ingredients Award in the functional ingredient category. This is the second recognition for Dow’s innovative SPF booster. In September SunSpheres™ BIO was named Sustainability Product of the Year, in the 2020 Sustainability Awards program of the 2020 Business Intelligence Group’s (BIG) Sustainability Award.
SunSpheres™ BIO SPF Booster enables greater SPF efficiency in sun care and daily wear SPF products. Derived from Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) -certified wood pulp, the innovative SPF booster delivers myriad benefits by reducing dependence on UV actives and enabling aesthetically pleasing formulations. It works with both organic and inorganic UV filters.
