Dow Saudi Arabia donates laptops to Ertiqa to support distance learning for local students in need

Khobar, Saudi Arabia, Dec. 20, 2020 - Dow Saudi Arabia (“Dow”) recently donated surplus computer equipment to The Computer Rehabilitation Charitable Organization (“Ertiqa”), a nonprofit organization that collects, refurbishes and distributes used computers to educational and social institutions in the Kingdom. As part of its corporate citizenship commitment, Dow made the contribution to support online learning during the pandemic.

Moosa AL-Moosa, president of Dow Saudi Arabia, and Dr. Saleh Al-Qome, CEO of Ertiqa, signed a donation agreement at Ertiqa’s offices on November 19, 2020. All computers received by Ertiqa are upgraded and programs installed to enable distance learning. These are then provided to students in need via charity organizations.

“We are delighted to partner with Ertiqa and to contribute to our community by enabling students’ success during the challenging circumstances presented by COVID-19,” said AL-Moosa. “We are pleased to raise public awareness of computer recycling through this donation. It is a significant way to decrease electronic waste whilst helping others.”

“Ertiqa appreciates Dow’s contribution as it helps to strengthen our campaign - ‘Their Education Does Not Stop” said Al-Qome. “It is essential that students have access to a computer to continue their studies remotely and to advance scientific achievements in the Kingdom. We are pleased to enable their accomplishments in the face of the challenges presented by the pandemic.”
