Dow Philippines continues to show firm commitment and support, helping local communities overcome the global health threat

MANILA, Philippines – September 15, 2020 – It has been 6 months since quarantines measures were first declared in Metro Manila. More than 240,000 cases and almost 4,000 deaths have been confirmed with the number of new cases ranged from 1,900 to 4,200 daily in August and September.

Dow has been actively involved in protecting the lives of people in the country, especially those who work in healthcare services, since the very beginning of the outbreak.

Our most recent support, on 30 August, was the donation of 4,000 PPEs to the Las Pinas General Hospital. The facility is one of the medical centers for treating Covid-19 patients and is located just a few kilometers from Dow’s Las Pinas production plant. The PPEs include reusable gowns/ hazmat suits, shoe covers, KN95 masks, head covers, eye goggles, surgical gloves, and face shields.

At the start of the lockdown in April, Dow distributed more than 1,500 food packs to immediately help those most impacted around our manufacturing facility. In May, we donated 2,000 PPEs to the Las Pinas General Hospital to reduce the possibility of healthcare workers catching the virus. Dow Philippines has shown a firm commitment and continuing support in helping local communities overcome this global health threat.
