Dow launches MobilityScience™ platform in Asia Pacific at the third China International Import Expo

Shanghai, China – November 6, 2020 – Dow (NYSE: DOW) today launched its MobilityScience™ platform to Asia Pacific at the third China International Import Expo (CIIE). This platform is designed to enhance the customer experience by tailoring technologies, products, and services from across Dow businesses to the transportation industry. The platform is pursuing accelerated growth by addressing Mobility mega-trends with material science innovation and enabling a seamless experience for Dow’s customers and partners.

On July 1, 2020, Dow announced globally its MobilityScience™ platform, to enhance the customer experience by improving service, accelerating innovation, reducing complexity and more effectively connecting customers to Dow’s extensive breadth of products and capabilities. Its launch in Asia Pacific at the third CIIE connects the platform closer and deeper with transportation industry in the region.

On November 6, Dow and National New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Center Co., Ltd. (NEVC) signed an MOU for strategic partnership at the third CIIE to pursue collaboration on innovative product development and technical research programs of mutual interest, as well as develop business models for Dow to deliver technologies, products and solutions to the new energy vehicle markets based on the NEVC platform. Dow and NEVC will cooperate to effectively convert research results into production for new energy vehicles and smart road areas through five initial collaborative projects under the MOU, across the applications such as in-vehicle air purification system, high-end automotive interior, and road marking coating for unmanned driving.

Dow’s transportation solutions include a wide range of polyolefin, polyurethane, acrylic, specialty chemical and silicone technologies for electric vehicles, hybrids and internal combustion powertrains. At the MobilityScience™ platform Asia Pacific launch on November 6, Dow showcased its one-stop transportation capabilities from five dimensions of Acoustics, Safety, Lightweighting, Interior & Exterior, and Comfort, introducing its integrated material solutions for battery pack assembly, power electronics, and automotive acoustics technology etc. that enable vehicles to be safer, more comfortable and with lower carbon emissions.
