Dow Colombia helps deliver sixty thousand bottles of antibacterial gel to more than 14,000 families affected by the winter wave during COVID-19

January 28, 2021 - Dow, ALPLA, Recamier, Viappiani Caribbean Biofuels, Cartones America, and Asocaña, supported by the ANDI Chemical Industry Committee, joined forces to donate to the Chocó and North Santander departments to help mitigate the effects of COVID-19 on the inhabitants of these regions.

In order to mitigate the risks of COVID-19 disease, companies joined forces to formulate and provide the raw materials required to manufacture and donate 56,456 bottles of antibacterial gel to people affected by the winter wave in the Chocó and Santander departments. Dow's technical team was responsible for the development of this formula to benefit 14,000 families.

As a result of the pandemic crisis and the recent winter wave, hundreds of families have faced enormous challenges, including vulnerability to a silent enemy, COVID-19. A large percentage of this population does not have the resources to buy hygiene products that allow them to disinfect their hands and thereby follow the protective measures indicated in the context of the health emergency.

"Once again we confirm our interest in Dow in contributing to the development and protection of communities. We believe that collaborative and co-creation work with our clients and partners are an essential element in designing innovative solutions tailored to the needs of society, as is the case with this project, where we join 9 companies to design a product that helps care and protect against COVID-19 in vulnerable populations in our country," says Juan Pablo Contreras, Dow's Country Manager for the Andean countries, Central America and the Caribbean.

This alternative represents an option for consistent and efficient sterilization. In this way Dow continues to join forces and make important partnerships to share solutions that address the impact of the COVID-19 crisis.
