Dow Building & Infrastructure launches new submittal generator tool, simplifying project bids for architects

Used hundreds of times per month, new submittal generator tool improves customer experience by enabling easier downloading and organizing of specification documents

MIDLAND, Mich. – Nov. 02, 2020 – The Dow Building & Infrastructure team has implemented a new submittal generator tool for customers to more easily download and organize the documents necessary to include Dow products in a project bid.

In order for high performance building products to be sold for a project, they must be included in the project’s specifications, which requires that architects submit product specification documents. Previously, obtaining these documents required downloading them one PDF at a time—by product and by letter type—from the submittal resource page on dow.com.

However, with the new digital submittal generator tool, architects, consultants, and contractors can select the documents they require through a single download - with the option of either a compiled package file or several individual PDF files. The value of the new tool has been demonstrated by its high level of use in the few months since its deployment.

Well over 800 downloads from across the globe have been made via the new user-friendly tool since its launch in June 2020. Over 60% of these downloads have been for the packaged PDF option, thus, making the previously complex process of creating a project bid/submission package significantly simpler for industry customers. In turn, this simplification helps ensure Dow’s presence and use when our products and solutions are desired for a project.

“The new submittal generator is a huge improvement for customer experience,” explained Jean-Paul Hautekeer, Global Marketing Director for High Performance Building at Dow. “It exemplifies the type of simplification we constantly aim to achieve at Dow, for more efficient processes. Digital has never been as important as it is now, under the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic. But under any circumstances, this tool is a big win for us and our customers. We expect to see its use only increase as more customers become aware and familiar with it.”
