PARIS, France – January 27, 2025 - Dow (NYSE: DOW) has announced a collaboration with Brivaplast and TecnoGi to advance circularity in the luxury goods industry by keeping high-quality materials in the loop for longer. This initiative will reprocess imperfect perfume caps for use in luxury footwear and leather goods, reducing manufacturing scrap and enhancing value across multiple sectors.
Dow, a global leader in materials science, currently supplies SURLYN™ resin – renowned for its aesthetic qualities and performance attributes – to Brivaplast, a top manufacturer of cosmetic packaging. This advanced material is used to craft flawless, gem-like perfume caps for prestigious fragrance brands. The production of luxury perfume caps requires stringent quality standards, which occasionally results in the production of substandard pieces. To provide a new life to this post-industrial scrap, TecnoGi, an innovative leader in manufacturing components for the footwear and leather goods industry, will reprocess these imperfect perfume caps for use in high-end components for luxury footwear and leather goods.
By reusing these materials, Dow, Brivaplast, and TecnoGi are highlighting an opportunity in the luxury goods industry and demonstrating the importance of working together across the materials value chain to promote circularity.
“Our collaboration with Brivaplast and TecnoGi comes at a time when demand for sustainable materials and packaging solutions continues to grow. At Dow, we recognize our role in going faster and further to find solutions to accelerate the circular economy for plastics across European industries and know our customers expect nothing less”, said Imran Munshi, Global Consumer Market Segment Leader at Dow. “We’re proud to show what can be achieved by working together across the value chain, and the benefits for all of keeping valuable materials in the loop for longer.”
“At Brivaplast, we maintain the highest standards for our products,” said Marco Roda, Head of Business Development at Brivaplast. “This collaboration allows us to uphold these standards while minimizing post-industrial scrap and contributing to a more sustainable future.”
“We are excited to be part of this initiative that not only supports our manufacturing processes but also aligns with our sustainability goals,” said Paola Zanetti, CFO at TecnoGi. “Transforming manufacturing scrap into valuable components for luxury footwear and leather goods is a win-win for all involved.”

It is also known for its superior scratch and chemical resistance. It is this versatility, combined with high performance qualities that make it a highly desirable material for premium cosmetic products.
Dow recently launched two extensions to the SURLYN™ Ionomers family that pioneer the use of circular and bio-circular feedstocks.
