About you and this role

This position is to maintain plant instrumentation including preventative maintenance and breakdowns. The job encompasses installation, repair, maintenance, and calibration of instrumentation and test equipment used to control & measure variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, motion, force and chemical composition.

Responsibilities

• This is a field maintenance position required to complete instrumentation troubleshooting and repairs in a large and complex chemical process facility.
• Maintain plant instrumentation.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks and complete work request.
• Perform calibrations per proper procedures.
• Installation and checkout of plant instrumentation.
• Assist in start-up of new installations.
• Assist Manufacturing and Engineering or instrument related issues.
• Assure completion of proper documentation.
• Proper use and maintenance of test equipment.
• Assist in stocking spare equipment and parts.
• Develop skills via formal training and self-study.
• Assist in the development and training of newer employees.
• Available for OT/emergency call-ins.
• Attend all safety meetings
• Adhere to all safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
• Must comply with all applicable Federal, State, and Corporate environmental, safety and health regulations.  

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 4 or more years of industrial maintenance or manufacturing experience.

• Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed for plant turnarounds, shutdowns and emergency call-ins (Weekends or Holidays).
• Essential functions of this position may require, among other things, that the employee use particular types of equipment -- such as on-site safety equipment that has specific weight limitations whereby the individual’s own weight, plus the weight of tools and other items and materials, must not exceed a certain threshold. (For example, some types of safety equipment may be rated for a maximum weight limit of 300 pounds total.) In the event a job offer for this position were (conditionally) extended and provides for a pre-employment medical examination, the individual will be appropriately evaluated regarding their ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years Industrial Instrumentation experience.

Preferred Skills

• Communication: Must be able to effectively convey information, ideas, and feelings to others, and to understand information received from them.
• Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS): Must be able to effectively use a CCMS to manage maintenance activities, equipment and resources.
• Prioritization: Effectively deciding which tasks to focus on and complete first.
• Safety Standards: Must possess the knowledge, abilities, and behaviors necessary to identify, assess and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Plant Instrumentation: Range of abilities needed to maintain, troubleshoot and optimize measurement and control systems within an industrial facility.
• Troubleshooting: Must be able to identify and solve a variety of potential plant problems.

Additional Notes

• The Dow Chemical Company does not offer relocation assistance for this position.  This includes reimbursement for travel expenses incurred to and from test sessions/interviews.  If you apply for a position that is not within the area in which you reside, you will be responsible for all costs that you incur.
