About you and this role
 

At our Site in Wiesbaden, Germany we currently have an opportunity for a Senior Technical Service and Development Technician in our Silicone Elastomer Lab.

This position gives you a challenging opportunity to join our development team, a global team focused on advancing technology and products in various market segments of Silicone Elastomers with a focus on mobility applications.

As a Technical Service and Development Technician for Silicone Products, you will be responsible for conducting a wide range of formulation experiments and material tests. You will be a fast learner, reliable, well organized with the ability to multi-task. The role is dynamic, and the candidate must be comfortable with tight timelines and be able to contribute independently but work with a closely-knit project team. The job entails the development of new products and applications and, therefore, a hands-on approach to chemistry and material testing equipment would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Executing Laboratory operation in a safe and scientifically sound way
• Support Design of Experiments (DoE) for formulation developments
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers on day to day activities
• Work with lab owner to ensure highest standard of safety and quality
• Reporting of lab results in timely manner
• Equipment owner for lab equipment
• Sample preparation for high-quality data generation

Qualifications

• You have a vocational qualification in a laboratory related field or a Bachelor degree in Science or Engineering
• You have experience in working in a wet Chemistry lab.

Your Skills

• Knowledge of the German language would be a plus.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to successfully partner with team members from multiple backgrounds.
