About you and this role:
Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Operations & Water Distribution Unit Leader located in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada.
The Environmental Operations & Water Distribution Unit Leader is responsible for daily operations of Environmental Operations (EVO) and Water Distribution (WD) within the Power & Utilities department in Fort Saskatchewan. Includes direct people leadership of EVO & WD staff and operators (5-10 individuals). Reports directly to the P&U production director. Will be expected to complete a new-leader review and serve as FWGL backup for EVO & WD.
The Environmental Operations & Water Distribution Unit Leader will serve as the primary contact when EVO & WD interfaces with the Path2Zero UPI (Utilities, Power, and Infrastructure) project, aiding the teams in collaborating for smooth work execution. As a leader, this individual will foster a work environment with a high level of integrity and strong customer and safety focus that embraces inclusion and diversity, innovation and sustainability, continuous improvement and empowerment.

Leadership: Ability of an individual or a group of individuals to influence and guide followers or other members of an organization.
Troubleshooting: The abilities to systematically identify, analyze, and resolve problems, often in a technical context, through a process of investigation, testing, and implementation of solutions
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Using RCA as a method of problem solving used for identifying the root causes of faults or problems.
Technical Support: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.
Preventive Maintenance: Proactively scheduling maintenance work to prevent asset failures, maximize uptime, and extend equipment life, ultimately leading to reduced downtime and costs
Analytical Thinking: Systematically evaluating information, identifying patterns, drawing conclusions, and making well-informed decisions, essential for problem-solving and understanding complex situations.
Productivity Improvements: Techniques and strategies to enhance efficiency and output, involving time management, organization, prioritization, and focused attention
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
A minimum of 5 years Engineering, Manufacturing or related experience.
Registration or the ability to be registered with APEGA (P. Eng).
Demonstrated formal or influential leadership abilities.
A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of permanent residency support.
