Dow and Richard Childress Racing

Our sponsorship of the No. 3 Dow Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 goes far beyond the race track and extends into the lab. We partner with Richard Childress Racing (RCR) to bring science and innovation to the transportation industry using the most extreme lab available: the race track. Together, our scientists at the Materials Engineering Center and RCR racing technicians develop automotive technology that make the No. 3 Dow Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 faster, more tuned and precise.

The Science Behind Safety and Speed

Dow and Richard Childress Racing are both dedicated to enhancing the performance and safety of vehicles. Our partnership enables us to improve vehicle aerodynamics through data analysis, identify the effects of the extreme environment on the component performance, and understand the race environment so we can determine the necessary improvements. In the highly competitive racing industry, a driver’s car should be fast, but it also needs to be safe and reliable. Through prototype development, data analysis and experimentation, Dow and RCR’s strong collaboration has maximized performance on and off the race track.
