Marco ten Bruggencate is president of Dow’s Industrial Intermediates & Infrastructure business operating segment. In this role, Marco oversees an industry-leading portfolio of businesses with annual sales of more than $16 billion, including Polyurethanes, Chlor-Alkali & Vinyl, Construction Chemicals, and Industrial Solutions. He also has executive oversight for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India (EMEAI).

Previously, Marco served as the president for Dow in EMEAI, responsible for designing and leading the growth agenda for this critical and dynamic region. Prior to assuming his regional responsibilities, he served as commercial vice president for Packaging and Specialty Plastics (P&SP) for EMEA. Marco joined Dow in 2000 with the acquisition of Flexible Products Company. He has since held sales, commercial, and marketing leadership positions across several Dow businesses and geographies, including Dow Building Solutions, Dow Construction Chemicals, and Dow Polyurethanes.

Marco represents Dow on the board of directors of Sadara Chemical Company, a joint venture between Dow and Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco). Currently he serves as president of Plastics Europe, the pan-European association of plastics manufacturers, with a focus on driving circularity and decarbonization throughout the plastics industry. Marco is a member of the advocacy advisory forum with Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council.

Marco holds a master’s degree in business economics from the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He is a vocal and active advocate for inclusion and diversity. He previously served as co-chair in Dow’s Women’s Inclusion Network and as business sponsor for DEN EMEAI, Dow’s disability network. He is currently the business sponsor for GAAN EMEAI, Dow’s Global African Affinity Network. He is based in Horgen, Switzerland.
