Jeff Tate is Chief Financial Officer for Dow, a global materials science company with 2023 sales of approximately $45 billion. In this role, Jeff is a member of the company’s executive committee that sets strategic direction, defines priorities, establishes corporate policy, and manages governance.

He has executive oversight for Finance, Investor Relations, Integrated Supply Chain and Purchasing. Jeff is a member of the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee for Huntington Bancshares Inc. (NASDAQ: HBAN). He also sits on the Board of Directors of Business Leaders for Michigan and FCLTGlobal, a nonprofit organization focused on capital for the long-term to support a sustainable and prosperous economy, where he serves on the Finance and Audit Committee.

As the former Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Leggett & Platt (NYSE: LEG), a $5 billion diversified global manufacturer, Jeff led global finance across 15 business units and 135 manufacturing sites. In this role, he led the company’s financial priorities with a strong emphasis on cash flow, capital allocation, and investor engagement. He also had accountability for Global Finance, Treasury, Corporate Development, FP&A, Audit, Tax, and Investor Relations.

Tate first joined Dow in 1992 and held several senior-level finance, operating and general management roles, including serving as vice president of finance for Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics. He previously served as chief audit executive, leading Dow's global internal audit and investigation activities and was also director of Investor Relations.

Jeff is widely regarded for his financial acumen, strategic insight, and his standout ability to develop and grow world-class finance organizations and build a pipeline of talent. He is viewed as a culture catalyst, inspiring communicator, and strong champion and leading voice for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. He sits on North Carolina’s A&T College of Business and Economics Executive Advisory Council and the Corporate Advisory Board for the National Association of Black Accountants, where he was recognized as the 2020 Chief Financial Officer of the year. In 2020, Jeff was named by Savoy Magazine as one of its “Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America”.

Jeff is a graduate of Harvard University’s CFO Leadership Program, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Executive Education Program for Prospective CFOs, Dartmouth College Strategic Finance Leadership Executive Education Program, and Thunderbird Executive Education Program. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Alabama and is a Certified Public Accountant.
