André Argenton is Dow’s chief technology and sustainability officer. He is responsible for leading Dow’s global Research & Development organization, Sustainability and Environmental Health and Safety.

Previously, Argenton was the chief sustainability officer (CSO) and vice president of Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S), advancing Dow’s sustainability, safety and health priorities. He also accelerated Dow’s efforts to create value for customers and global communities through sustainable products and solutions. Prior to that, he was the vice president of Core R&D, overseeing a broad portfolio of research programs and world-leading innovation capabilities enabling technology development across key market segments.

Argenton joined Dow in 1999 and moved to the U.S. in 2007. Throughout his career, he has driven innovation across varied chemistries and technologies, supporting multiple industries through product development, process research and application development.

Argenton earned a Ph.D. from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has served on several academic advisory boards. Currently, his external commitments include the University of Michigan Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Michigan Erb Institute and the NYSE Sustainability Advisory Council.

Outside of Dow, Argenton enjoys rock climbing, playing saxophone, photography and growing bonsai trees.
