Affordable health care for you and your family. The Dow Family Health Centers provide a high quality, low cost option for primary care visits (e.g., consultations and physical exams, preventive screenings, immunizations, etc.), specialist referrals and more!

Occupational Health Clinics

Dow’s Occupational Health Clinics provide the following services to screen, promote, and protect Worker Health and Wellbeing

SERVICE DESCRIPTION
Fitness for Duty / Return to Work Evaluation Return to Work/Fitness for Duty evaluations to active Dow employees. These services promote health, safety and productivity as the employee transitions back to the work site or has work site environmental changes.
Injury and Illness Case Management Provides a connection and coordination with internal and external services. A Dow nurse case manager will personally assist you in coordinating your care for both on and off the job injury or illness and if needed, your return to work.
Medical Surveillance Program Evidence based program to ensure that health-related requirements are met & potential workplace health risk are proactively identified. You will be enrolled in this program based on your potential exposures and job requirements.
Reproductive Health Consultations If you are contemplating pregnancy or become pregnant, a health care provider is available to discuss potential on-the-job reproductive hazards and safety concerns.
Lactation Support Program Onsite pumps help employees continue breastfeeding upon return to work. Some members are eligible for partial reimbursement for purchase of a pump.
Travel Health Consultations For traveling internationally on business. Assistance provided with immunizations and other health advice such as infectious disease, travel advisories, etc. Scheduling your appointment 4-6 weeks prior to traveling is recommended.
International SOS is a 24-hour, worldwide service, that provides medical advice, medical or dental referrals and assistance in obtaining physician appointments or hospital care. Intranet keyword: Travel Health

Wellness Centers

Health and wellness often starts with personal fitness. We make sure our employee have access to physical activity whenever possible, providing walking paths, exercise rooms, wellness centers and more at many sites around the globe. Dow staff is present at some locations, which offer a wide array of cardio and strength training equipment plus other amenities and personal services that vary by location.

Diabetes Education Coverage

Dow supports participation in Diabetes Education

Active U.S. Dow employees and pre-Medicare retirees enrolled in either the Low Deductible Medical Plan or the High Deductible Medical Plan are eligible for diabetes education coverage with the following guidelines:

  • For members in either Plan, coverage is at 100% per visit with no calendar year deductible.
  • The annual coverage limit is provided up to a maximum of $500 per member/per year.
  • The diabetes education program must be at a facility approved by the American Diabetes Association. For a current listing of approved programs in your area, check the ADA website or call 1-800-342-2383.
To take advantage of this benefit:
  1. Participate in an eligible program and get an itemized, dated receipt.
  2. Upon completion of the program/activity, complete an Aetna Medical Claim Form and attach your receipt(s).
  3. Mail the form and receipt(s) to the AETNA claim office:

How will I receive my reimbursement?

The diabetes education reimbursements are processed the same way as any other health care claim. After your claim is processed and approved, you will receive a check directly from AETNA.

What is the deadline to submit my reimbursement request?

Similar to other health care claims, you must submit your reimbursement request by the end of the year following the year of service/purchase. For example, a claim incurred in February, 2021 must be submitted by December 31, 2022.

Active U.S. employees and their family members and pre-Medicare retirees and their family members enrolled in either the Low Deductible Medical Plan or the High Deductible Medical Plan are eligible for this weight management reimbursement coverage. Eligible expenses are covered at 100% before deductible and are limited to $1,000 per member, per year.

  • Group program led by a Registered Dietitian
  • Medical provider-based programs
  • Weight Watchers (Online or In Person)
  • TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly)

Quit For Life® Tobacco Cessation Program

Dow has partnered with the Quit For Life® program to help you break free from tobacco use. Quit for Life helps tobacco users prepare for and successfully quit all forms of tobacco, including vaping, at no cost to you. The program includes 24/7 access to a Coach via phone, text or chat, 8 weeks of nicotine replacement therapy (patch or gum), and much more.

Eligibility: The program is available to all U.S. Dow employees (and employees of Dow JVs/ subsidiaries) eligible for the Dow medical plan. In addition, retirees, spouses and dependents (age 18 and older) currently covered under the Low Deductible Medical Plan or the High Deductible Medical Plan may use the program.

Breathe™ Smoking Cessation Program

(Aetna members)

Learn more about the seven key characteristics to successful quitting. The program provides relevant information and a personalized action plan built on your specific issues and behaviors related to smoking cessation. This interactive program improves your confidence and motivation while effectively addressing habits, barriers, and triggers.

This program is part of the online wellness programs that are available to Dow Aetna members through the Aetna Simple Steps Health Assessment. To access this and many other programs, go to www.aetnanavigator.com, scroll over “Health Records” and choose the “Take a Health Assessment” link.

Tobacco Cessation Coverage

(Aetna members)

Active employees, retirees and family members enrolled in either the Low Deductible Medical Plan or the High Deductible Medical Plan are eligible for coverage of tobacco cessation expenses. Eligible members can receive financial assistance for tobacco cessation consulting, nicotine replacement therapy and approved prescription drugs.

E-cigarettes and Dow’s No Tobacco Policy

Electronic cigarettes, more commonly called “e-cigarettes,” are a type of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS). The use of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) violates Dow's Tobacco Policy. Smoking in any form through the use of tobacco products (pipes, cigars, cigarettes or vaping with e-cigarettes) on Dow property is prohibited.
