Racing for Awareness

Even though the race at Homestead-Miami Speedway originally scheduled for March 22 has been postponed, the veteran NASCAR Cup Series driver Austin Dillon and the No. 3 Dow Chevrolet will still take to the track – virtually – and sport a new Great American Cleanup-themed paint job to celebrate World Water Day 2020.

It’s one way that Dillon and the RCR team plan on making a splash on World Water Day and raising awareness about the importance of water in all aspects of life. Dillon and the RCR team are collaborating with Keep America Beautiful and Dow to celebrate the Great American Cleanup, the largest community improvement program in the United States and part of Dow’s #PullingOurWeight initiative.

The eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series, an exhibition series featuring NASCAR drivers, kicks off at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time March 22 on the virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway. The exhibition series will feature drivers such as Dillon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson. NASCAR has postponed all races through the May 3 Cup race at Dover International Speedway because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to raising awareness with a Great American Cleanup-themed paint job, Dow, RCR and KAB are looking to collaborate on community cleanups, focusing on keeping our waterways clear of litter. Although cleanups are currently postponed because of the pandemic, the RCR team will help promote cleanups as they are scheduled. Water is important to communities and individuals alike, whether it is used to light up our cities, manufacture automobiles or power our own bodies. Getting involved in community cleanups shows firsthand how we can all do our part to preserve our most important natural resource.

“I have always loved fishing, boating and being outdoors near the water,” said Dillon. “World Water Day reminds us that we need to do our part to conserve and recycle resources so that everyone can enjoy it.”
