Supporting STEM Education with Enactus in Morocco
MOROCCO - July 19, 2016 - Aligned with its strategy to support science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education in the Maghreb, Dow supported the 13th edition of a national competition sponsored by the international organization Enactus. The aim of the competition was to use STEM skills to solve social challenges in Morocco.
Enactus, a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better and more sustainable world, held the final round of its national competition in Casablanca on June 28. Four top Moroccan engineering schools were represented. As a sponsor, Dow was also represented on the jury, along with other companies such as Unilever, P&G, OCP, and Richbond. Some of the presented projects offered solutions to water, food, and energy efficiency challenges.
Enactus is present in 36 countries, working with more than 1,700 universities and 70,000 students. It provides a forum for teams to showcase the impact of their outreach efforts, which are then evaluated by executives serving as judges. National champion teams advance to the prestigious Enactus World Cup to experience excellence in competition, collaboration and celebration. The Enactus World Cup will be held in Toronto, Canada, September 28-30, 2016.
