Sudhir Shenoy Keynote Address at CII Annual Conference on Occupational Health and Safety

Midland, Mich - August 11, 2017 - - Sudhir Shenoy, chief executive officer of Dow Chemical International Pvt. Ltd., recently delivered the keynote address at a high-profile conference sponsored by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

In his address, Sudhir highlighted three aspects of health and safety including: organizational health and safety goals, health and safety of stakeholders in the value chain, and overall community well-being. The speech was well-received by the audience of more than 100 people from leading companies such as Siemens, Tata Group, Adani Group, and L&T, as well as government experts in occupational health.

“The culture of prioritizing health and safety of all stakeholders does not get built overnight – it needs to be championed by the leadership and lived daily by each and every person within the organization. Recent studies on employee motivation show that company brand, higher salaries or job security are no longer the top motivating factors – a shared feeling of well-being, shared purpose of doing something good and important features as one of the highest motivators across employee age groups. There can’t be a better business case than this, to ensure health and safety are on the top of our priority list as an industry and a country,” Sudhir said.

After the inaugural session by Sudhir, the conference included multiple presentations and panel discussions by senior industry representatives on sustainability, health, and safety across the value chain.
