Southeast Asia Charity Challenge Benefits Charitable Organizations in Five Countries

Midland, Mich - August 14, 2017 - - The sixth annual Dow Southeast Asia Charity Challenge and Golf Tournament has raised USD $124,000 to benefit six outstanding humanitarian organizations in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. Over the last six years, through a concerted effort among Dow employees, customers and partners, Dow has raised more than USD $670,000 helping various non-profit organizations in the region. This year, the beneficiaries include:

  • Autism Association (Singapore)
  • Chosen Children Village Foundation, Inc (Philippines)
  • Special Olympics Indonesia
  • The National Autism Society of Malaysia
  • The Thai Red Cross Society
  • Yayasan Cinata Anak Bangsa (YCAB) Foundation (Indonesia)

The Charity Challenge includes in-country fundraising activities organized by Dow offices across the region. Some of these creative activities included a charity walk to raise autism awareness in Singapore, a food bazaar, lunch deliveries, and auctions to raise funds for the autism community in Malaysia. The Charity Golf Tournament hosted in Indonesia was the finale to the Charity Challenge where more than 130 customers, partners, and Dow employees gathered for a day of golf and dinner to raise funds and give back to the communities across the region.
