Solutions for Chinas Water Challenges with Award Winning Dow Technologies

Dow Water Process & Solutions launched five new water purification and separation technologies at Aquatech China 2016 recently in Shanghai. The new technologies are designed for a variety of applications, addressing the most pressing challenges Chinese end users are facing in the industrial and residential segments.

At the tradeshow, Dow introduced its solutions for Minimal Liquid Discharge (MLD), a core set of proven ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, nanofiltration and ion exchange- based processes that enables users to achieve up to 95 percent liquid discharge recovery – at a fraction of Zero Liquid Discharge’s costs. Dow’s new product line DOW FILMTEC™ FORTILIFE™, with advanced antifouling technology for challenging water conditions, was recognized with the \"Best Technology Innovation Award” in the Membrane Category at Aquatech.


The DOW AQUALAST™ 1812 Element, Dow’s latest innovation in reverse osmosis for the residential market, was first launched in early May. It was recognized with the “Market’s Choice Award” at Aquatech. The element allows homeowners to save up to 67 percent in water usage compared to purifiers using conventional RO technology, thereby reducing their water bills and helping to minimize their environmental footprint.

Other products and technologies revealed at the show include:

  • FILQUEST™ high flux modules, a propylene product used in industrial water pretreatment for its antibacterial effectiveness and reliable performance.
  • An Ultra High Pressure RO membrane that helps to achieve further concentrating of high TDS wastewater.
  • A new Weak Acid Cation ion exchange product, which has already proven successful in optimizing MLD in a Chinese coal to chemical plant.
