Centenarian Celebrations: Robert Haas

Robert Haas, a Union Carbide retiree, turned 100 on August 17, 2020. Brian Belluomini, CRC Phoenix, Arizona chapter president, met with Robert Haas and his wife Gerry in their home a few days after his 100th birthday. Brian presented him with congratulatory letters from Dow CEO Jim Fitterling, CRC President David Clash, CRC Western Region Director Mike Gaston, and himself, along with a Union Carbide logo blanket.
Bob joined the Army after graduating from High School in 1938 and served until 1941. After a stint with DuPont, he joined Linde in about 1952 at the Tonawanda, NY Molecular Sieves Laboratory. He spent his career with Linde working on Air Separation Production units at various locations including, Tonawanda and the four Bethlehem Steel plants in and around Lackawanna, NY, that focused on oxygen production.
Bob retired in 1984 after 32 years with Linde. He and Gerry currently reside in their single-family home in Scottsdale, Arizona.
