Michigan Operations Personnel Achieve One Year OSHA Free
- September 12, 2016 -
On September 8, Dow Michigan Operations (MIOps) personnel achieved one year OSHA free performance. This milestone represents the collective efforts of every MIOps employee working in the plants, shops and warehouse/packaging units on-site.
Late last year, MIOps began a targeted program emphasizing individual accountability and intervention at all levels of the organization through a series of staff town hall meetings. Contractors were invited to participate in the meetings and encouraged to share the steps they had taken to improve their safety performance and achieve real results.
“We could not be happier with the results,” said Rich Wells, vice president of Operations, Canada and USA North and site director of Michigan Operations. “These employees represent our greatest risk from a line of fire perspective and historically have been our largest area of opportunity. I am so proud of their commitment to Zero and achievement of this accomplishment.”
In addition to recognizing this group for its outstanding performance, MIOps will utilize this opportunity to challenge all site personnel to work injury free.
