Giuliano Tomassi Marinangeli named Vice President of Federchimica for Product Safety

Giuliano Tomassi Marinangeli, general manager of Dow Italy, was recently named Vice President of Federchimica for Product Safety, serving for a term of four years. This appointment follows his previous assignment as Vice President of Federchimica for Education, a role in which he served from 2014 to 2017.
Federchimica is the Italian Federation of the Chemical Industry. Currently, about 1400 companies with a total of almost 90,000 employees are part of the Federation. They are grouped into 17 associations and 42 product groups. Federchimica is a member of Confindustria (General Confederation of the Italian Industry), CEFIC (European Chemical Industry Council), and ECEG (European Chemical Employers Group).
In this new position, Tomassi will be responsible for leading initiatives aimed at providing member companies with specific information on the European general safety requirements to strengthen market surveillance of products in the EU.
“I am extremely honored of this appointment,” said Giuliano. “My aim is to help support a more collaborative system of market surveillance across the EU while enhancing the role of Dow in Italy within the national industrial landscape.”
Giuliano also serves as the Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy. In 2014, he was named the Dow Representative on the Cefic Programme Council for Industrial Policy and Vice President of Federchimica for Education. As of July 2016, he has become a member of the “Universities and Enterprises” Technical Committee of Confindustria.
