Dow Southeast Asia Charity Challenge 2016 Raises 130000
SINGAPORE - July 29, 2016 - The Dow Charity Challenge in Southeast Asia continued into its fifth year and raised $130,000 USD for six charities in five countries – Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. Dow’s regional Global Citizenship event, which is aligned with the company’s initiative to build sustainable communities, again received tremendous support from employees, customers, distributors and partners. Over the years, the event has raised almost $550,000 USD for the underprivileged and various causes.
The challenge combines two approaches to fundraising: a series of employee fundraising activities and a Charity Golf Tournament. Months prior to the tournament, Dow offices in the region organized their internal fundraising activities and employee donations. The Charity Golf Tournament was hosted by Dow Malaysia for 130 golfers from both local (Malaysia-based) and overseas companies.
2016 beneficiaries include:
- Indonesia – Special Olympics Indonesia and Indonesia Mengajar
- Malaysia – National Council for the Blind, Malaysia
- Philippines – Chosen Children Foundation, Inc.
- Singapore – Autism Association (Singapore)
- Thailand – Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother
