Dow Shares Silicone Structural Glazing Expertise for High Performance Building Applications
Dow experts to present at GlassCon Global
MIDLAND, MICHIGAN, USA – Dow High Performance Building will exhibit and present at GlassCon Global in Chicago, Illinois, on September 5 through 7.
On Friday, September 7, members of the Dow High Performance Building team will be sharing their knowledge with other industry professionals:
- Larry Carbary, Industry Scientist, will be a moderator and panelist in the plenary session “The Transatlantic Debate” at 9 a.m. Carbary also will present “Field of Rods, Culver City, CA, TSSA, Design and Mockup Performance” as part of the “Curved Glass & Strength of Glass” educational track at 2:45 p.m.
- Jon Kimberlain, Senior Application Specialist, will present “TSSA: Performance in Hurricane Impact Applications” as part of the “High Performance Use of Glass” educational track at 10:30 a.m.
- Adrienne Bowman-Grittini, Senior Technical Service & Development Specialist, will present “Performance of Crystal Clear Silicone Reactive Hot-Melt in Four-Sided Structural Glazing Applications” as part of the “Structural Glass – Strength of Glass” educational track at 11:20 a.m.
With a wide range of silicone solutions for today’s – and tomorrow’s – sustainable building challenges, Dow continues its pioneering product development, with products such as DOWSIL™ Transparent Silicone Structural Adhesive (TSSA), a next-generation bonding option for crystal clear, point-fixed glass façades.
“DOWSIL™ TSSA negates the need to drill and bolt through the glass – eliminating the potential for air leakage and thermal bridging,” said North America Market Manager Joy Govitz. “This innovative structural adhesive helps maximize thermal performance of façades.”
Products of the heritage Dow Corning silicone technology platform have been globally renamed DOWSIL™, with unchanged formulations and continuing warranty coverage to ensure a smooth transition for construction customers. The DOWSIL™ product lines are part of Dow Consumer Solutions, one of the global business units of The Dow Chemical Company with an expanded, comprehensive technology portfolio, global scale, strong customer relationships, R&D capabilities, and customer support.
