Dow Manufacturing Leadership Awards Frost Sullivan 2017
MIDLAND, MICHIGAN - March 02, 2017 - - The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) was recently honored with four Manufacturing Leadership Awards from Frost & Sullivan’s Manufacturing Leadership Council. These annual awards honor manufacturing companies and individual manufacturing leaders that are shaping the future of global manufacturing.
Expert cross-industry judges selected Dow as a company honoree in three categories: Operational Excellence Leadership, Engineering and Production Technology Leadership and Talent Management Leadership. Paul Dean, Dow’s vice president, engineering, maintenance and technology centers, was recognized in the category of Visionary Leadership.

Dow’s novel work process and continuous improvement program called Dow Operation Excellence System (DOES) was selected as a winner in the Operational Excellence Leadership category. The DOES project delivers greater focus on customer and market needs, greater financial performance, and increased collaboration across departments, removing silos and barriers to collaboration.
The Propylene Dehydrogenation Project, which is part of Dow’s more than $4 billion feedstock investment program on the U.S. Gulf Coast, was selected as a winner in the Engineering and Production Technology Leadership category. The Propylene Dehydrogenation Project (PDH) provides Dow with advantaged propylene feedstock for its Performance Materials, Consumer Solutions, and Industrial Solutions business franchises.
Development of employees is a primary focus at Dow, and the company’s Operations Talent Development initiative was recognized in the Talent Management Leadership Category. Dow has four foundational employee development programs, all carefully designed to meet the development needs of employees. The impact is these participants are able to immediately apply their newly acquired skills to complete a project that aligns to the program objectives and returns value to the company.

Dow and the other winning companies will be recognized at the 13th annual Frost & Sullivan Manufacturing Leadership Summit and Award Gala, which will take place in June.
