Dow Italy’s Mozzate site supports an initiative of Politecnico di Milano to create a hand sanitizer in response to the COVID-19 emergency

Mozzate (CO), June 5th 2020 – As part of the consolidated partnership between Dow Italia and Politecnico di Milano, the Dow site in Mozzate recently supported an important project of the university for the preparation of a sanitizing solution called Polichina, created following the WHO's recipe in response to the current COVID-19 emergency.

Hand Sanitizer TeamThe team in Mozzate donated about 7,400 liters of ethyl alcohol to the Politecnico for an approximate commercial value of €7,000 - this raw material was already available in the factory. This initiative allowed the Politecnico to produce about 9,000 liters of Polichina to be donated to Civil Protection, Police Headquarters and ASST (local health authorities) in Lombardy.

As an acknowledgment for the valuable help, the Polytechnic set 50 liters of sanitizing solution aside for Dow, which will be distributed in small spray dispensers to employees in Italy - a small contribution in line with current hygiene measures.
