Dow Gives 1 Million to Hurricane Harvey Relief and Recovery Efforts
Midland, Mich - August 28, 2017 - - Dow is taking a number of actions in response to tropical storm Harvey, including a donation of $1 million to the relief and recovery efforts along with employee support offerings for those directly affected in the Gulf Coast region
Employee Support – A number of actions are underway to support Dow Texas employees in need, including:
- Offering temporary housing for employees who have incurred flooding and have no water, power, or sewer
- Offering $10,000 interest-free loans for impacted employees
Community Support – In response to the widespread devastation in Texas, The Dow Chemical Company Foundation is giving $1 million to support immediate relief, long-term recovery, and rebuilding efforts associated with the storm and its aftermath.
As part of our $1 million commitment, Dow is working closely with national and local partners who are providing critical services to individuals immediately affected by the flood. Dow is allocating $100,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, $100,000 to Team Rubicon, $200,000 to local service providers, and a $100,000 match to employee contributions to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. As recovery and rebuilding efforts continue, Dow will engage with community partners to assess where the remaining $500,000 will be applied, in order to best respond to community needs.
