Dow China Receives 2015 Low Carbon Enterprise Award

Dow China was honored with the 2015 “Low-Carbon Enterprise” Award at the recent International Cooperative Conference in Beijing. The award recognizes Dow’s sustainability leadership and best practices, identifying Dow as a low-carbon role model with significant positive impact on the industry and the community. Dow is the only multinational company among the five winners.

The award was jointly presented by the China State Information Center, the Green Travel Fund and the Low-Carbon Action League. Inaugurated in 2013, the award program selects enterprises, projects and individuals that exemplify efforts to promote ecological civilization and accelerate low-carbon development. This year, the organizers received 110 applications.

The organizers commended Dow’s excellence in energy saving, emissions control, and waste reduction, as well as its employee engagement. They highlighted the Shanghai Dow Center (SDC) as a model for sustainability. SDC applies a wealth of leading technologies toward achieving energy efficiency, water savings, and enhanced people safety. SDC is home to one of Dow's world-class innovation centers, which pioneers tremendous technologies and solutions to address sustainability needs in China and around the Asia Pacific region.
