Dow and Special Olympics France

Midland, Michigan - April 11, 2017 -

In France, 700,000 people have a mental disability. Each year, between 6,000 and 8,500 children are born with learning disabilities, impacting families across the country in profound ways.

Since 2012, Dow and Special Olympics France have built a partnership to help people living with mental handicaps to become integrated into professional and social life through sport. By multiplying the number of sporting events for children, young people and adults, the partnership is helping change society’s vision of handicapped people to show that we can all be champions.

The development of this partnership is supported by Dow’s Disabled Employee Network (DEN France). Each year, 60 Dow employees take part in relay races all over the country. In 2016, these efforts have had a positive impact on the lives of 5,660 people with disabilities.
