Continuing the Success of Buen Trabajo Program in Bahía Blanca Argentina
Midland, Mich - August 25, 2017 - - Dow Argentina, together with local partners, recently launched a new edition of “Buen Trabajo” (Good Job) program in Bahía Blanca, Argentina. In its eleventh year, this corporate citizenship program provides a second chance for unemployed and unskilled residents.
The Good Job training program is a creative and effective solution developed to meet a basic community problem: matching qualified employees to available jobs. With high unemployment rates, especially among young people, jobs are key to improving people's lives, the local economy, and the strength of the community.
The solution better prepares young people through training for available jobs. Dozens of organizations and businesses came forward to lend their skills and expertise to Buen Trabajo so students could embark on a life-changing educational journey free of charge.
Since the program began in 2007, Buen Trabajo has graduated 100 students with a 90 percent graduation rate.
