Anastasiou Appointed to Hellenic Association of Chemical Industries
EUROPE - July 18, 2016 - Despina Anastasiou, regional leader for Dow Central Europe and country manager for Greece & Cyprus, was appointed as a Member of the Board of the Hellenic Association of Chemical Industries (HACI). The appointment has strategic relevance for Dow’s business in the region, since the organization’s primary role is to examine issues and formulate positions that affect the industry at the national, European and international levels. Anastasiou was also recently reappointed for a further term on the Board of the American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce.
A week after the formation of the new HACI Board, the board members attended a meeting with Theodora Tsakri, deputy minister of industry in the Ministry of Economy, Growth and Tourism. During the meeting, various key topics for the industry sector were addressed, including the price of electricity, registration and labeling of imports, and tackling tax evasion to ensure creation of a competitive and sustainable market. Key reforms were also evaluated to facilitate investments, capitalize on the benefits of the EU legislation and overcome bureaucratic obstacles.
