Mumbai, India, has one of the world's largest and fastest growing populations. But, with rapid urbanization and population growth come a number of social and environmental challenges. Dow is enlisting the talents of 43 skilled employee volunteers on seven teams to collaborate with local NGOs, leveraging their skills and capabilities to create solutions for Mumbai's critical needs.
In its sixth year, Leadership in Action enables new leadership development and skills-based volunteer opportunities for employees and gives them a chance to learn, in-country, about the realities of international business. The program also helps to identify new business opportunities while advancing Dow's Global Citizenship strategy of putting into action the company's commitment to advancing human progress through the development of sustainable communities.

Develop a comprehensive process document and three-year strategic plan to support the scaling and replication of the current sanitation model, and standardize sanitation service centers within urban slums across the city.
Provide Sampurn(e)arth with economically-viable, decentralized solutions to waste management that will grow the circular economy and positively impact the social well-being of Indian citizens.
Design a methodology for tracking, measuring and effectively communicating United Way’s impact and increasing community awareness and participation. In addition, the team could recommend methods for integrating global best practices in beach and water cleanup.
