Ester Baiget is business president for Dow’s Industrial Solutions business unit and a member of the company’s leadership team, where she helps drive the company’s mission and helps ensure the company’s long-term success. Baiget is responsible for the business’ growth and profitability as well as the strategic direction of this industry-leading business portfolio that provides a diverse range of products and services that enable more sustainable manufacturing, infrastructure and industrial solutions to address some of today’s most pressing societal needs.
With more than 20 years of global experience as a technical and commercial business leader, Baiget has driven transformational change and enhanced profitability across a diverse range of businesses. Her leadership develops a culture of inclusion, engagement and of delivering results. She has a track record of achieving results that outpace average market growth and of leading the development of a business blueprint that gains investor support and delivers the greatest return on growth for customers and the business alike.
Baiget joined Dow in 1995 as an engineer in Tarragona, Spain, part of a team accountable for the start-up and commissioning of Dow’s first metallocence asset in EMEA. Since then, she has held manufacturing, technical, commercial and strategic roles, bringing her expertise to a range of areas including market facing, downstream and feedstock Dow businesses, corporate strategic development and external boards. She accepted her current role as business president in 2016.
Baiget represents Dow as Vice President of EPCA (European Petrochemical Association). She shares her passion for sciences and inspires colleagues and future generations through her role as a STEM ambassador, active proponent of WIN (Women’s Innovation Network), and most recently as the executive sponsor of Dow’s RISE Employee Resource Group. RISE focuses on positive personal and professional integration of new employees, enabling them to achieve their full potential and influence the company’s culture. She previously represented Dow on the board of MEGlobal, a joint venture between Dow and Petrochemical Industries Company of Kuwait and EPCA (European Petrochemical Association) and served as vice president of FEICA (Association of the European Adhesive & Sealant Industry).
Based in Horgen, Switzerland, Baiget holds a chemical engineering degree and an MBA from the University of Tarragona (Spain).
