Diego Donoso is President of Dow’s Packaging and Specialty Plastics (P&SP) commercial business and Olefins, Aromatics & Alternatives (OAA) hydrocarbons business.
With annual sales in excess of $23 billion, P&SP is widely recognized as the world’s largest materials suppliers of polyethylene resins and functional polymers used in a wide variety of applications for key growth markets like food packaging, supply chain packaging, health and hygiene, infrastructure, and consumer goods. Donoso oversees a workforce of 8,700 employees, with 20 integrated manufacturing sites and regional commercial teams that service 110 countries. Built on a solid foundation of operational discipline with versatile process technology, P&SP consistently ranks as a top quartile performer amongst its industry peers, delivering disruptive, award-winning innovation that meets customers’ expectations on performance and sustainability.
Donoso joined Dow in 1991 as a trainee in the commercial area in São Paulo, Brazil after graduating with a degree in Business Administration from Babson College, in Boston, Massachusetts. Over the next 20 years, he served in numerous marketing and commercial leadership positions for Dow’s resins and plastics franchise in both Latin America (Brazil, Argentina) and Europe (Switzerland, Italy). He was named to his current role in 2012.
A strong proponent of diversity and inclusion in the workforce, Donoso is Executive Sponsor of Dow’s Middle East, North Africa Employee Resource Group (MENA) and a frequent speaker on the benefits of building an inclusive work culture. Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and English, Donoso has completed the Leadership in the Global Enterprise program from the Thunderbird School in Phoenix, Arizona, and a senior executive program at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Donoso and his wife Sandra have three daughters and live in Midland, Michigan.
